A martial arts home in Stuart
Jiu Jitsu and self-defense for adults, kids, and women in Stuart, Florida — where beginners belong.
Where beginners belong
Gracie Martial Arts started with a simple idea: the room where you learn to defend yourself should be the most welcoming room you walk into all week. For more than a decade we've taught Jiu Jitsu and self-defense to families across Stuart — adults chasing a healthier, more confident life, kids building focus and courage, and women learning practical skills in a setting that never feels intimidating.
We're family-owned, and it shows in how we coach. Beginners belong here — most people who step onto our mats have never trained a day in their life, and that's exactly who we built our classes around. There's no ego at the door and no hazing on the floor. Just a clear path, patient instruction, and a community that celebrates every small win on the way to the next belt.
The values on every mat
Three ideas shape how we teach, how we talk to you, and how it feels to train here.
Welcoming
Beginners belong here. We speak plainly and never intimidate — your first day should feel like being welcomed in, not tested.
Confident
We know our craft. Our coaching is direct and encouraging, with no hype — just the real skills and steady progress you came for.
Family-first
Adults, kids, and women all see themselves here. This is a place the whole family can train, grow, and belong together.
What day one actually looks like
Arrive about 15 minutes early so a coach can say hello and show you around — no paperwork stress, no pressure. Wear comfortable athletic clothes; we provide everything else you'll need for a trial class, so there's nothing to buy before you start.
Your first session begins with a light warm-up, then a coach walks you through a few foundational movements at your own pace. You'll partner with training partners who remember exactly what their own first day felt like — expect encouragement, not intimidation. Nobody is going to throw you into hard sparring; we scale every drill to where you are.
By the end you'll have learned a real technique or two, gotten a genuine workout, and seen how our community trains. Most people leave already asking about the next class. When you're ready, your first class is on us — no commitment required.
